Are you adulting?
If so, what makes it "adulting". Some would say it is because we pay bills. Ok Ok, I'll give you that. However, if we gave a child, of reasonable age, money and said go pay "this", some would get right and pay the bill. While others would possibly buy candy or lose the money. How many are still spending rent, grocery or the kids back to school money, when they shouldn't? Who got friends that still need to borrow money when you know they just got paid? How many got friends or relatives that pay their bills like clockwork? Never late, got "good credit". What about the fact that we engage in sexual activities and have babies. Without going to deep into that scenario, I'll just mention the Series Teen Mom, 1, 2 and 3. Teen Mom UK, and the Series 16 and Pregnant. Sex and babies? Sadly, that's technically no longer an "adult" thing, even if it should be. How about jobs, "working" and employment? Sad fact, but UNICEF is still fighting for children bonded to child labor. Reportedly, in poorer countries, slightly more than 1 in 5 children are engrossed in certain industries and lifestyles that promote child labor. So, what makes it adulting? It must be our conversation, our capacity to think things out. See the other side. Put things in Perspective. As an elder in a situation, we have lived longer than the person we are talking to. If we are of the same age, then we should respect their walk of life, rather we agree or not. Same goes for if we are with our elder, what does it hurt to listen? You don't have to change your beliefs or opinions. What you might gain is another perspective or a broader opinion on sed situation/topic. Overall, as adults lets be mindful of our choice in words. How we talk to one another; what we say in front of those younger than us. There is no age limit on leaving an impression. Words are powerful, why you think it's the FIRST amendment. It's up to you to choose your words and use them wisely. Remember "CONTENT MATTERS" (stressing the name of my Blog). Content includes WHAT YOU SAY AND DON"T SAY. Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Are you adulting?
